In laser cutting, tolerance refers to the allowed deviation between the design dimension of a part and the produced dimension. Setting realistic tolerance expectations directly affects your project's assembly compatibility.

Laser cutting offers very high precision on thin materials, with tolerance typically held in the ±0.05 - 0.1 mm range. Heat impact is minimal at these thicknesses.

Tolerance increases slightly for medium-thickness materials, generally in the ±0.1 - 0.15 mm range. Cutting speed and gas pressure play a critical role in this range.
